Isabela State University-San Mariano Campus celebrated a momentous occasion on April 13th with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Knowledge, Innovation, Science, and Technology (KIST) Park, soon to be known as the FoodTechnovation Hub.
Key figures such as Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, University President; Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr., DOST Secretary; and Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, graced the event, along with other esteemed guests.
In her opening speech, Dr. Ruby B. Dimas, Campus Administrator, emphasized the significance of the KIST Project in advancing the university’s research and development goals, fostering innovation, and promoting economic growth.
Hon. Paula Go, Barangay Captain, Zone 01, expressed optimism about the project’s potential to benefit not only farmers but also students eager to explore innovative ideas.
Dr. Renato U. Solidum Jr., DOST Secretary, conveyed congratulations on behalf of DOST and highlighted the project’s role in catalyzing both innovation and entrepreneurship.
The proposed location for the KIST Park spans 13,626.05 square meters, strategically positioned behind the campus to facilitate collaboration with existing income generating projects.
