With the aim of fostering innovation and development, faculty extensionists from Isabela State University – San Mariano Campus reaped awards during the Ilagan Cluster In-House Review of Completed and Ongoing Extension Projects, held on October 21, at ISU-City of Ilagan Campus.

 

The ‘Project Earth: Eco-Friendly Adaptation and Resilience, Towards a Harmonious School Environment,’ an internally funded project, secured 2nd place. With the proponents, Ms. Apol Joy Cagayan, Dr. Aisie Liban, and Mrs. Grace Yanos, BSEd core faculty members.

 

In a statement, Mrs. Grace Yanos, a BSEd core faculty member and one of the project’s proponents, highlighted the importance and benefits of the project.

 

“Project Earth 2.0 aimed to educate Grade 12 students at Daragutan East High School on various methods of developing a healthy community using renewable resources,” Yanos said.

 

She added that the project covered topics such as waste management, energy conservation, and fostering teamwork to promote and build a green school.

 

Meanwhile, the externally funded extension project led by Mrs. Lilibeth Languido and Mrs. Grace Yanos, titled ‘Biosecurity Measures for INSPIRE Recipients,’ was also awarded 2nd place during the event.

 

Yanos also noted that the project ensures the long-term recovery and sustainability of swine farming operations.

 

Furthermore, she shared the project’s contribution to the agricultural field.

“The project contributed to the success of the Integrated National Swine Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE),” she concluded.
