John Paul T. Asuncion, a BAT-4 student at Isabela State University-San Mariano Campus, clinched the championship title in the Regional Kabataang Organic Agriculture (OA) Quiz Bee hosted at ATI-RTC 02, Malasin, San Mateo, Isabela on November 7, 2023.
The competition aimed to raise awareness about organic agriculture and promote enrollment in Agriculture and Agriculture-related courses through an agricultural quiz focused on OA production, technologies, and practices.
Dr. Julius Lagua, Program Chairperson of BAT/DAT, commended the campus for its quality education and consistent success. “This victory proves the high standard of education at ISU-San Mariano, which has been key to our success in such competitions despite being a smaller campus. This is the mark of ISU-San Mariano, the mark of the BAT Program,” Lagua declared.
Engr. Joamae Maneja, DAT-BAT core faculty and Co-Coach for the competition, expressed pride in the campus’s hard work. “The dedication in preparing for the Quiz Bee has paid off. Once again, ISU-San Mariano brings home victory, thanks to the efforts of our DAT-BAT department with top management’s support,” Maneja remarked.
John Paul T. Asuncion extended gratitude to his coaches and the school for their support. “This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without their unwavering support and belief in me. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to everyone for helping me along this journey,” he acknowledged.
Asuncion was joined by Rodalyn Buyagaon, Archie Eugenio, Rannie Planas, and Jean Francisco in representing the campus at the competition.
