As they prepare to take the next step in their academic journey, fourth-year students of the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) gathered for the Bar Pinning and Candle Lighting ceremonies at the Agri-Educ Quadrangle on February 5, 2024.
Dr. Ruby B. Dimas, Campus Administrator, emphasized the significance of teaching as a noble profession in her opening remarks. She urged students to approach challenges with resilience and maintain the right mindset as they embark on their teaching careers.
Dr. Kristopher R. Lopez, Academic Affairs Director, encouraged pre-service teachers to demonstrate competence, love, and dedication in their teaching endeavors, despite the challenges they may face.
As part of the pre-internship seminar, Mrs. Femelonia C. Cabatan, Campus Nurse, Ms. Roan B. Antonio, Guidance Counselor, and Dr. Jaypee A. Zipagan, BSEd Chairperson, provided insights on Ethics, Human Resources, Proper Decorum, Stress Management, and Teaching with Compassion, respectively.
During the emotional Bar Pinning ceremony, students took the stage with their parents and guardians, expressing gratitude for their support throughout their educational journey.
John Bueno, father of Mr. John Paul Bueno, BSEd 4-English, expressed joy and pride in his son’s achievement, highlighting the family’s support in his education.
Mr. John Paul Bueno and Ms. Pamela Santos, both BSEd 4-English students, shared their happiness and sense of accomplishment as officially pinned student teachers. Ms. Camilla Joy Rinion, BSEd 4-Science, expressed honor and gratitude for reaching this milestone, acknowledging the responsibility that comes with wearing the pin.
The event concluded with the Candle Lighting ceremony and closing remarks from Dr. Evelyn B. Cristobal, Extension and Training Services Director and BSEd faculty, emphasizing the responsibility of shaping young minds and molding the future as educators.
