A delegation from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the Philippines, along with provincial and municipal officials from Isabela and San Mariano, recently visited the Philippine Crocodile Conservation Center (PCCC) on February 19th as part of their provincial tour.
During an interview, Joanne Dy Marannan, Provincial Tourism Officer and Head of Isabela Museum and Library, emphasized TECO’s strong support for the PCCC’s conservation efforts. His Excellency Wallace Minn Gann-Chow, Ambassador of Taiwan to the Philippines, led the delegation in their mission to assess tourism, farming, and fisheries initiatives to explore avenues for collaboration.

Marites Gatan Balbas, Director of Operations at Mabuwaya Foundation/Philippine Crocodile Conservation Center, highlighted the assistance provided by the Taiwan Forestry Bureau, particularly in designing educational materials such as calendars, storybooks, and flip charts distributed in San Mariano.
Balbas also revealed that the Provincial Government of Isabela, under the leadership of Hon. Rodito T. Albano III, will facilitate Starlink internet connectivity for the PCCC and students at Isabela State University-San Mariano Campus.
The visit underscores the collaborative efforts between international partners and local stakeholders in advancing crocodile conservation and sustainable development initiatives in the region.
