In celebration of its accomplishments in advancing gender-responsive programs and fostering a culture of inclusivity, Isabela State University (ISU) San Mariano Campus successfully conducted its Gender and Development (GAD) Culminating Activity and Year-End Meeting on December 19, 2025, at the BSHM Function Hall and Agri-Educ Quadrangle.

The activity brought together faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and campus officials in a meaningful gathering that highlighted the University’s commitment to gender equality, community building, and organizational solidarity while celebrating the achievements and milestones of the past year.

The program formally commenced with an invocation led by Dr. Jaypee A. Zipagan, BSED Program Chairperson followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the ISU Hymn. In her opening remarks, Dr. Aisie B. Liban, Campus AA/QA Director, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of sustaining a collaborative and gender-responsive work environment that supports the University’s mandates of instruction, research, extension, and production.

As part of the Christmas season celebration, Prof. Drolly P. Claravall, Campus Administrator, delivered an inspirational message encouraging faculty and staff to reflect on the values of gratitude, service, unity, and resilience. She likewise commended the campus community for its collective efforts, dedication, and accomplishments throughout the year.

A highlight of the event was the GAD Culminating Address delivered by Dr. Mark Rennel D. Molato, GAD Focal Person, entitled “Building the Beloved Community: A Call for Gender-Responsive Love and Service.” In his speech, he underscored the significance of promoting respect, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in creating a supportive and empowering campus environment. He further encouraged the University community to continue championing gender-responsive initiatives that contribute to institutional development and community transformation.

The celebration was further enlivened by special performances from selected members of the non-teaching staff and the teaching personnel. Interactive games facilitated by Mr. Jerahmeel Elijah B. Ibale, Mr. Fernando M. Pitacio, and Mr. Jurwin V. Cabbab fostered camaraderie and strengthened relationships among campus employees. Meanwhile, an exchange gift activity coordinated by Ms. Maycie S. Adriano added excitement and reflected the spirit of generosity, gratitude, and fellowship during the holiday season.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Lilibeth S. Languido, Faculty President expressed her appreciation to the organizers and participants for the successful conduct of the activity. She highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and continued dedication to the University’s mission as the campus prepares for new opportunities and challenges in the coming year.

The successful conduct of the GAD Culminating Activity and Year-End Meeting reaffirmed ISU San Mariano Campus’ commitment to advancing gender and development advocacy while strengthening the bonds among its faculty and staff. More importantly, the event served as a reminder that fostering an inclusive, gender-responsive, and service-oriented academic community requires the collective effort of every stakeholder.

The activity concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment to continue building a more inclusive, compassionate, and empowered University community in the years ahead.
